The sloping land by the cottage

 

October 1997 - Year 2:
A few fruit trees (tamarind) have been planted on the sloping land NW of the cottage. Two elder mango trees are seen in the background.

 

 

 

October 1998 - Year 3:
Natural vegetation - mostly ton muuk trees - are growing rapidly.
Dikes have been dug in order to make soil sedimentation.

February 1999 - Year 4:
The trees are leave-less in the dry season

 

 

 

 

April 2000 - Year 5:
The new vegetation is minimizing soil erosion.

 

 

 

 

June 2001 - Year 6:
The first rain has come but the rainy season has not really started yet.
Vegetation is getting dense and Suan Mali has got many shady places.

 



August 2002 - Year 7:
After fire (January). Rains started in May.
January 2004 - year 9:
The trees are leave-less in the dry season
May 2005 - year 10:
After the first rain.
